FACTS ABOUT THE PROJECT

NEW CONSTRUCTION OF A RETAIL PARK IN HERFORD

On the site of the former EDEKA market in Herford, we have completed a modern retail park offering 5,500 m² of rental space. The building has been leased long-term to EDEKA Wehrmann and dm-drogerie markt. This location fills a crucial supply gap in the region and is perfectly tailored to meet the needs of local residents.

The building is notable for its sustainable construction: the roof structure was built using timber, with great attention paid to recyclability and separating materials for easier future recycling.

Energy efficiency is enhanced through the installation of a photovoltaic system, and the building meets KfW-55 energy standards.

In collaboration with the German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND), several eco-friendly measures were implemented to increase the building's environmental value. These include a green roof, façade greenery, deadwood logs on the roof to attract insects, bird nesting boxes, bat summer roosts, and perches for birds of prey. Additionally, invasive plant species were avoided in favor of insect-friendly plants.

The retail center offers 150 parking spaces, some equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, and over 60 bicycle parking spots, including charging points for e-bikes, to meet modern mobility needs.

The building is fitted with efficient technology, including a heat recovery system and LED lighting inside and out. No fossil fuels are used—dm is heated via a heat pump, while EDEKA uses the waste heat from refrigeration units to heat the store.

The project is in the process of obtaining certification from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and is targeting a Gold certification.

WE DO IT YOUR WAY.
