An extra-special visual experience has been created at a youth hostel in the shadow of the Marienberg Fortress in Würzburg.
Originally planned as a "facelift", the historical building with 238 beds was extensively remodelled from November 2017 to August 2018. The SCHLEGEL team implemented the complete remodelling and supplied the interior furnishings.
The new design covered the reception, lobby, lounge and bar areas as well as the dining halls and all 61 rooms (including the wash rooms) of the building. The intention was to combine modern and Baroque styles. This resulted in rooms that would leave an impression with visitors with their fresh new look, featuring new furniture and surfaces, striking colour design, graffiti and neon elements, stark contrasts and areas with specially designed lightning.
The modernisation combines all aspects of modern guest rooms with the charm of a historical building.
