COMPLETE EXPANSION OF
40,000 SQM FOR ECE

One of the main inspirations for the architects who designed the CANO shopping centre was the industrial history of the German city of Singen, which is reflected in the design of the centre's external façade as well as the volcanic landscape that surrounds it. The latter in particular is also reflected in the centre's interior. The use of warm colours, smooth shapes, curved ceiling sections and structures that rest on top of one another portrays the landscape of the region in an abstract form.

The construction project spanned approx. 7500 m² of building space. With six storeys, this amounted to 45,000 m². Three of these levels are retail spaces with a total of 86 shop units. Our SCHLEGEL team realised the complete development of these areas.

Mayor Bernd Häusler hailed the CANO as a new "beacon" for Singen as a city of shopping on the day that the centre was officially opened. And for us as a general contractor as well, the complete development, which was implemented over an effective construction period of just six months, has been an absolute highlight that lights the way for further work of this kind.
